Subsurface soil sample tubes were sealed with PTFE-coated sheets, <br /> plastic end caps and tape;ground water samples were collected in sterilized amber glassware <br /> and/or plastic bottles, as appropriate. All samples obtained from the property were preserved <br /> F"+ <br /> on ice and submitted under chairnof-custody to a California-certified laboratory for analysis. <br /> Drill cuttings and subsurface soil samples were screened for petroleum hydrocarbon <br /> k contaminants in the field with a Bacharach Model 0023-7356 Organic Vapor Analyzer(OVA). <br /> Drill cuttings and ground water purged during well development were each placed in DOT• <br /> a approved 55-gallon labelled drums that wore left on-site. The contents Qf three drums-- <br /> containing soil was romedlated along with excavated soils during uncontrolled aeration. The <br /> contents of four drums containing well development/purge water was discharged on-site by <br /> Yrw,l <br /> Mr. Ouaresma subsequent to water analyses that revealed non-detectable contaminant <br /> concentrations. The three currently empty drums that had contained soils remain on-site. The <br /> four emptied water drums were removed from the property by Mr. Ouaresma. <br /> {A <br /> FINDINGS <br /> Site Description <br /> The subject property consists of approximately three acres of span, vacant land comprising <br /> San Joaquin County Assessor's Parcel No. 195-121-30. The property is bounded to the nol(h <br /> by a single residence, beyond which are a Texaco automobile service station and rural <br /> residential/commercial properties; to the south by East Thomsen Road, beyond which is a <br /> commercial office building that was constructed within the past year; to the east by a <br /> I residential subdivision; and to the west by Harlan Road, beyond which is the Interstate 5 <br /> easement{Plate 2). <br /> The current property owners routinely perform mechanical woad abatement: consequently, <br /> the ground surface has a disced appearance and during our involvement with the property, <br /> s we have observed only sporadic occurrences of, depending on season, Or or dried weeds <br /> 6i <br /> WALLACE•Kura <br /> a £ASSOCIA( S INC. <br />
