The soils remediation <br /> transmitting the results of uncontrolled soil aerat <br /> was accomplished in accordance with a January 21, 1991,Application for..uthorization of Uncontrolled <br /> Soil Aeration. <br /> Approximately 360 cubic yards of petroleum hydrocarbon-contaminated soils were excavated and <br /> stockpiled at the subject property in January, 1991. The stockpiled soils were subsequently spread on <br /> construction grade polyethylene across an approximate 18,800-square foot area for aeration. Only 25 <br /> cubic yards of soils,however,were aerated at any one tune;the remainder of the contaminated soils was <br /> tory field observations,to <br /> kept covered until each 25 cubic yard unit appeared,based on visual and olfac <br /> have completely aerated. <br /> After it appeared that all the aerated soils had been successfully rernediated,the entire aeration area was <br /> divided into a sampling grid (Plate 1); twenty-two samples were obtained from the aeration area on <br /> September 3, 1991, in clean,two-inch diameter brass tubes. The sample tubes M ere sealed with PTFE- <br /> September submitted andel chain-of-custody to a <br /> coated sheets, plastic end caps and tape, preserved on ice an <br /> California certified laboratory for analysis of total petroleum hydrocarbons FPA method 8015 <br /> (T,�'H, <br /> modified)and benzene, toluene,xylene and ethyl benzene(liT3t&E,EPA met�iad 8(?0).
