Composite 4(Sample "'7 and S8), Composite 6(Samples 511
and S12)and Composite 10 (Samples S19 and S20),however, atained total petroleum hydrocarbons,
ranging from 58 ppm to 180 pi these concentrations are above the 50 ppm concentration at which you
indicated aeration is considered complete, The laboratory analytical results, including quality control data v
and chain-of-custody, are attached in their entirety,
We completed a second sampling event on October 11, 1991, in grid locations at which the initial
sampling event revealed soils with remaining TPN concentrations above 50 ppm. The second event
samples were identified in the same manner as in the first event, followed by the designation i
Review of the second event analytical results reveals that Composite samples S7A-S8A and•S I iA-S 12A
contain non-detectable BTX&E and TPH concentrations. Composite sample S19A-S20A contained non-
detectable BTX&E concentrations and 42 ppm total petroleum hydrocarbons.
We do not anticipate, based on the results of the laboratory n,•ialytical results and our field work, that
additional soils remedial activities are necessary. We request that the property owners, subsequent to the
removal of the underlying polyethylene barrier, be allowed to disc the successfully aerated soils into
existing on-site soils.
Wallace-Kuhl& associates, Inc.
David Von Aspern
Staff Geologist 'vD vF0
ANTHONY'.
L. • SARA.CINO
Anthony Saracino GEOL661ST Q
Director of Environmental Services OF NV
DVA:AS;sdm
Copies to: Raymond Quaresma/Steve Mothershed
Eleanor Ratliff, San Joaquin County Environmental Division
