Box 404
Pleasanton, CA 94566
7-ELEVEN STORE, 9110 THORNTON ROAD, STOCKTON - REQUEST FOR REGIONAL BOARD,
ASSISTANCE IN GAINING SITE ACCESS
In your letter dated 23 May 1990 you state that you have "requested written
access approval on numerous occasions over the past two years" but that "[t]o
date, none has been granted" .
Although whether Southland can obtain access to offsite properties will affect
well placement, denial of access alone does not necessarily relieve Southland of
its responsibility to define and remediate any pollution it has caused. We would
appreciate receiving copies of the correspondence which documents your efforts
to obtain access to offsite properties. We would also appreciate receiving your
proposal for alternatives for addressing contamination to the northeast of your
site, should access to Rocha's property be unavailable. Please provide this
information by 8 June 1990.
Setting aside for now the uncertainty regarding access to the northeast offsite
areas, the items requested in our letter dated 15 May 1990 (copy attached) should
be within your capability. Please submit Items 1. (work plan) , 2. (historical
summary) and 3. (remedial action status report) no later than 2 July 1990.
However, Item 1. should be modified to mean "a work plan to provide early
detection of contaminants which may be wigracing toward domestic water supply
wells, and to establish the ground water gradient".
If you have any questions, please call Tom Peltier at (916) 361-5731.
nrow•.a 11
THOMAS R.
