7-Eleven/Stockton 13
August 1989
w, (Appendix B) . Groundwater sampling was conducted by first
purging water from each well using a clean polyvinyl chloride
(PVC) bailer. Each well was purged a minimum of four well
volumes of water by hand bailing, unless the well could be purged
dry. The groundwater was then allowed to recover to at least 80
percent of the original static water-level prior to sampling.
The groundwater samples were obtained using an Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA)-approved TeflonR sampler. The samples
were collected in laboratory-supplied containers, labeled,
preserved, and stored on ice. Samples were transported under
Chain-of-Custody Manifest to a California state-certified
laboratory, GTEL Environmental Laboratories, Inc. (GTEL) in
Concord, California. Each sample was analyzed for benzene,
x toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX) , and for total
petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH)-as-gasoline by modified U.S. EPA
Methods 5030/8020/8015. The sampling schedule during this period
,-" for the wells on and near the site, was as follows:
o Monitoring wells and pumping wells which previously
were shown to have no free product were sampled twice a
month starting with a sampling round on April 7, 1989.
5
o Domestic wells 9160, 'Tomato Growers (TMG) , 1927, 1912,
and 8968 were sampled twice a month starting with the
" sampling round on April 7, 1989. Domestic well 1927
was not sampled on June 20, 1989 due to a broken water
line.
o Domestic wells 9140, 9159, 9156, 9167, and Ivy Motel
were sampled once during each month starting with the
sampling round on April 7, 1989.
