LODI UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
FACILITY PLANNING DEPARTMENT
1305 East Vine Street, Lodi, California 95240
i 3
June 24, 1996 f ;996
San Joaquin_County
Community Development Department
Development Services Division
1810 E. Hazelton
Stockton, CA 95205
Attn: Chandler Martin
SUBJECT: MS 96-12 - Sowles Road
Ryan Voorhees
Gentlemen:
We are writing in response to the Minor Subdivision application for the above
referenced property. The approval of this Project will be contrary to the Educational
Facilities Element of the San Joaquin County General Plan. This Project, along with
other development recently approved or subject to approval at this time, will
cumulatively have an adverse impact on the ability of the District to provide classroom
space to students in our community.
The purpose of this letter is three-fold:
(1) to voice the District's concerns in regard to the Project as it is
currently proposed;
(2) to indicate in what manners the Project violates the General Plan, and;
(3) to suggest alternative ways to mitigate the impacts of the Project on
District schools.
Lodi( .09)331-7218 Stockton (309) 953-8218
Fax ('_'09) 331-7229
