SOIL Dtl'.AVA710N AND DISPOSAL WORKPLAN
32 Takay Street Lodi CaIrtarnia
1 D INTRODUCTION
' This workplan describes proposed soil characterization and excavation at the Pacific
Coast Producers Lodi Cannery located at 32 Tokay Street in Lodi, California (Figure 1)
' The scope of work was developed from information provided by Dufour Environmental
and Resource Management, and is subject to modification as newly acquired information
may warrant
' 1 1 Purpose
' The purpose of the proposed work is to
• characterize and excavate diesel-bearing soils within a former diesel fuel
' underground storage tank basin,
• backfill, compact, and pave the excavated area to original conditions, and,
' dispose of the excavated soils at an appropriate off-site facility
' 1 2_ Scope of Work
The proposed scope of work will be performed according to the Aegis standard operating
procedures included in Appendix A, and will include the following
' Trenching and on-site laboratory analysis to characterize the extent of
subsurface soils containing greater than 100 parts-per-million (ppm) total
petroleum hydrocarbons (fPH), as diesel, and 0 005 ppm benzene, toluene,
' ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX),
• Supervising the excavation of soils, identified above (estimated to be
' approximately 200 cubic yards), until the material is removed or site
structures or conditions preclude additional excavation,
' Profiling and hauling diesel bearing soil to an appropriate disposal facility,
• Backfilling the excavation with clean imported fill and compacting to
' 90 percent under the direction of a qualified soils engineer, and,
• Preparing a results report documenting site activities, soil sampling results,
' and soil disposal
' 92-074A WPN 1
