' SOILEXCAVATiON ANO DISPOSAL WORKPLAN <br /> 32 Tokay Street Lodi Caldornia <br /> Aegis proposes to characterize the soil to be removed by using a backhoe to excavate <br />' east-west and north-south trending trenches through the center of the former excavation, <br /> to a depth of up to 15 feet below grade (Figure 2) Soil samples will be analyzed on site <br /> by a state-certified moble laboratory for concentrations of TPH, as diesel, and BTEX If <br />' TPH or BTEX concentrations greater than 100 or 0 005 ppm, respectively, are noted in <br /> any of the samples, that section will be excavated to beyond the sample location and <br /> resampled Trenching will be terminated when the extent of soil containing greater than <br />' 100 ppm TPH, as diesel, and 0 005 ppm BTEX is determined The soil characterization <br /> is expected to be completed in 1 day It is estimated that ten to fifteen samples will be <br /> analyzed on site for TPH, as diesel, and BTEX <br />' 3 2 Soil Excavation <br /> Using the excavation boundaries established during the trenching and sampling phase, <br /> Aegis personnel will supervise soil excavation It is estimated approximately 200 cubic <br /> yards of soil within and around the former diesel tank basin will be removed <br /> 3.3 Excavation Backfilling <br /> After excavation, Aegis will report soil sampling results to the County and request <br /> permission to backfill the excavation The excavation will be backfilled with suitable clean <br /> imported fill and compacted to County specifications, prior to repaving <br /> 3 4 Soil Disposal <br /> Excavated soil will be stockpiled on site Stockpiled soil will be characterized for disposal <br /> at either the Forward Landfill in Stockton, or the BFI Landfill in Livermore, depending on <br /> soil sampling analytical results Additional analysis may be required depending on which <br /> landfill is used <br /> 3 5 Closure Report Preparation <br /> A draft closure report will be prepared documenting site activities, sampling results, and <br /> soil disposal The finalized report will be submitted to the County following client <br /> approval All work will be conducted under the direction of a professional geologist, <br /> registered with the State of California <br /> 3 6 Site Health and Safety Plan <br /> A site health and safety plan (SHSP) has been prepared and will be on site during all field <br /> activities A copy of the SHSP is included as Appendix B All on-site work will be <br /> conducted according to the SHSP The SHSP contains information on the properties of <br /> potentially hazardous materials determined to be on site by previous investigations The <br /> information is equivalent to that contained within Material Safety Data Sheets <br /> 92-074A WPN 3 <br /> I <br />
