(AGE) and
has the following comments.
The Report presents the results of laboratory analysis performed on groundwater samples
collected from two wells at the subject site, and compares the results to samples collected at the
contaminated underground storage (UST) tank site located at 2353 Toste Road, known as
Tracy Marine, which is located across the street to the west of the subject site. The Tracy
Marine site has undergone groundwater remediation by ozone infusion. The sample results
compared were analyzed for bromate, bromide, chromium and hexavalent chromium, which are
potential byproducts of ozone infusion.
In the Report AGE states that the ozone infusion remediation did not degrade the quality of the
groundwater at the Tracy Marine site, and that based on location, lithology and geochemistry
the two sites are similar enough to conclude that the same remediation would not have an
adverse effect on the groundwater quality at the subject site. AGE recommends installation and
operation of an ozone injection system at the subject site, as proposed in Feasibility Study
Report prepared and submitted by AGE on February 7, 2008. The EHD agrees with this
recommendation. Please proceed with submittal of a Work Plan detailing installation of the
proposed ozone infusion system. The Work Plan is due no later than November 5, 2010.
If you have any questions please contact Lori Duncan at (209) 458-0337, or by email at
Iduncan@sjcehd.com.
Sincerely, %
Lori Duncan, REHS Nuel C.
