Ozone Injection Pilot Test Work Plan
Former CURTISS PONTIAC-BUICK
2450 Toste Road, Tracy, California
1.0. INTRODUCTION
At the request of Mr. Joe Toste,Jr,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE)has prepared
the enclosed Ozone Injection Pilot Test Work Plan for the property located at 2450 Toste
Road, Tracy, California. The scope of the work includes installation of ten ozone injection
wells, installation of an ozone injection system and operation and monitoring of the system
for up to six months. The location of the site is illustrated in Figure 1. A site plan is
illustrated in Figure 2. A summary of background information is presented in Appendix A.
The work plan was prepared as directed by San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department (EHD) letter dated 20 September 2010, and in accordance with guidelines
established by the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB)for
the subsurface investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites.
2.0. SCOPE OF WORK
AGE is recommending the performance of an ozone injection pilot test in the area
encompassing wells MW-1B and MW-4, borings PB5 and B6, and extending southward
towards the former UST and dispenser areas. The scope of work will consist of the
following tasks:
• Permitting, planning and pre-field work activities;
• Drilling and installation of ozone injection wells;
• Installation of ozone injection system;
• Performance of a 26-week ozone injection pilot test, including monthly monitoring;
and
• Preparation of a report of findings.
In a letter dated 20 April 2009, the EHD directed that ground water samples be collected
from Tracy Marine Sales located approximately 250 feet west of the site at 2353 Toste
Road, Tracy, CA to determine if ground water quality had been degraded by ozone
injection. In February2010,ground watersamples were collected from wells MW-1, MW-7,
and MW-8 at 2353 Toste Road and analyzed for chromium, hexachrome, bromide, and
bromate.
In a letter dated 08 April 2010, the EHD approved AGE's recommendation to sample wells
MW-1 B and MW-4 at 2450 Toste Road to compare the results with the February 2010 data
Advanced CeoEnviranmental,.Inc.
