F
t
05 November 2010
AGE-NC Project No. 96-0254
collected from 2353 Toste Road, Tracy, CA. In May 2010, ground water samples were
collected from wells MW-1 B and MW-4 at 2450 Toste Road and analyzed for chromium,
hexachrome, bromide, and bromate.
Based on the data collected during the February and May 2010 sampling events, it
appears that ozone injection at 2353 Toste Road (Tracy Marine Sales)did not degrade the
quality of ground water. Based on the location, lithology and geochemistry of the Curtiss
Pontiac site compared to the Tracy Marine Sales site,AGE concludes that ozone injection
will not have an adverse effect on ground water quality at 2450 Toste Road, Tracy, CA
(Curtiss Pontiac).
2.1. PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES
Applicable site assessment permits will be submitted to the San Joaquin County EHD and
a health and safety plan will be prepared in accordance with Occupational Safety and
Health Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities (National Institute for
Occupational Safety and Health Administration, U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency, 1985). Prior to drilling activities, each proposed drilling location will be
clearly marked and a utility clearance obtained through Underground Service Alert.
2.2. OZONE INJECTION WELL INSTALLATION
Based on concentrations of total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-g) and
benzene in the area of wells MW-1 B and MW-4, borings PB4 (dispenser area), PB5 and
B6, and the former UST and dispenser areas, AGE proposes installation of a total of ten
(10) ozone injection wells. Additional ozone injection wells installations will be proposed,
as necessary, based on the performance of the ozone pilot test.
The proposed ozone injection wells will be screened below the watertable and into ground
water, at areas of known petroleum-impacted ground water. Proposed well locations are
depicted in Figure 2.
2.3. OZONE INJECTION DISTRIBUTION NETWORK INSTALLATION
A system of %-inch diameter polyethylene tubing will be installed in appropriately sized
poly-vinyl chloride (PVC)conduitwithin 8-inch wide trenches approximately one foot below
surface grade(bsg)and routed from each ozone injection well head to the proposed ozone
generating unit. Piping construction will be appropriate for tubing replacement or repairs.
Following piping placement, the trench will be backfilled with imported road-base sand,
Advanced Geo Environmental,Inc.
