REPORT PREPARATION
Upon completion of field work and receipt of final laboratory analysis, a report will be prepared
presenting the findings of the investigation. The report will include a description of the work
performed and the results of the sampling and analysis. Conclusions and applicable
recommendations will be included in the report. The report will be in a format acceptable to the
CVRWQCB and the EHD, and will be reviewed and signed by a California Registered Geologist.
4.0. FIELD PROCEDURES
All field procedures will be overseen by an AGE representative under the supervision of a California
Registered Geologist.Procedures for monitoring well abandonment and replacement, soil removal
and sampling, equipment decontamination and sample shipment are outlined below.
4.1. MONITORING WELL ABANDONMENT
Monitoring wells MW-IB,MW-4 and MW-7(Figure 2)will be abandoned utilizing a truck-mounted
drill rig equipped with 8-inch hollow stem augers. The well will be over-drilled from surface grade
to total depth of each well. The boring will be backfilled to surface grade using Type UII portland
neat cement and not more than 6 gallons of water per 94-pound sack of cement.
4.2. SOIL EXCAVATION
Soil will be excavated using a backhoe or an excavator.Excavated soil will be field-screened for the
presence of volatile organic compounds using an OVM. Based on OVM readings and field
observations, excavated soil will be segregated into`clean'soil and petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted
soil stockpiles; excavated soils with OVM readings above background air measurements will be
considered impacted. At the conclusion of the excavation activities, the soil stockpile(s) will be
covered with plastic.
The open excavation area will be surrounded by temporary fencing. No AGE or subcontractor
personnel will be allowed into any excavation greater than five bsg without proper excavation
shoring and/or sloping techniques in-practice.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
