Hazardous Waste Contingency Plan <br />Holz Rubber Company <br />2.2.5 Other Response Actions — 40 CFR 262.265 (e), (i), 22 CCR 66264.56(e) <br />During the emergency, the Emergency Coordinator will take all reasonable measures necessary to <br />ensure that fires, explosions, or releases do not occur, recur, or spread to other hazardous <br />materials/waste or other parts of the facility. These measures include, where applicable, collecting and <br />containing released waste, and removing or isolating containers. <br />2.2.6 Follow-up Procedures, 22 CCR 66264.56(9) <br />2.2.G. 7 Recoycy and Di.rpo.ral — =�0 CFR 262.?GS (�, (b) <br />Immediately after the spill, the Emergency Coordinator will arrange for the collection and <br />management of recovered wastes, contaminated soil or water, and any other waste materials that <br />resulted from the emergency. <br />Spilled material must be transferred to appropriate storage containers as soon as safely possible. <br />Cleanup will consist of collecting as much of the spill materials as possible to avoid any future <br />contamination of sewers, ponds, or waterways. All contaminated materials are to be placed in labeled, <br />DOT -approved waste containers. Care will be taken not to mix the spilled material with incompatible <br />materials. Upon completion of an emergency response, any resulting hazardous waste will be tested <br />for waste characterization and shipped for disposal to an approved landfill or disposal facility. <br />2.2.6.2 Follow Up Notfcalioa acrd Repalin; — 40 G'PK 2G2.2G5' (i), 22 CCR 6626�.SGU) <br />If an incident requires the implementation of dlis Contingency Plan, the Emergenc}' Coordinator «nll <br />note in the operating record the time, date, and details of the incident. The Emergency Coordinator <br />will submit a written report on the incident to the Regional administrator within 15 days of the <br />incident. The report will include the following: <br />• Name, address, and telephone number of the owner/operator <br />• Name, address, and telephone number of the facility <br />• Date, time, and type of incident <br />Name and quantity of material(s) involved <br />• Extent of injuries, if any <br />• Assessment of actual or potential hazards to human health or the environment, where this is <br />applicable <br />• Estimated quantity of recovered materials that resulted from the incident <br />The following documents are available to be used as reference for release reporting: <br />• "Spill Response Notification Form" (Appendix E) <br />3. Additional Plan Contents <br />This section provides information on coordination agreements, emergency coordinator contact <br />information, emergency equipment, evacuation plans, and inspections. <br />6 <br />
