PROCEDURES
' 2 1 GROUND WATER DEPTH MEASUREMENT AND PURGING
On 17 Mai ch 2000, a Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground watei in
each well relative to the top of the well casing After ground water depth measurements were
collected, monitor Ing wells MW-I through MW-7 were purged using a two-stage submersible pump
I Five to six gallons of water(a minimum of 3 well volumes per well) were evacuated from wells MW-
F B,MW-2B, and MW-3 through MW-7, and twelve gallons of water were purged fi om MW-l A and
MW-2A
' Temperature, pH and conductivity were measured at 2-gallon intervals in wells MW-i B, MW-213,
and MW-3 through MW-7, and at 3-gallon intervals in wells MW-I A and MW-2A The field data
' wei e measured with a Hydac water analyzer Logs of the field data are included in Appendix A
Purged water was stored on-site in labeled 55-gallon drums
' 2 2 COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
' Water samples were collected from each well using a new disposable plastic bailer Each water
sample was transferred into three 40-m1 VOA vials containing 0 5 ml 18% HCL as a sample
pi esei vative and one I-liter amber bottle without preservative Aftei collection, the samples wei e
' Advanced GeoFn-stronnlental Inc
1
