dibromide (EDB) Concentrations of TPH as gasoline, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and
xylenes were detected in each soil samples from the tank excavation EDB was detected in
one sample at a concentration of 2 9 parts per million (ppm)
TPH, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes were detected in the water sample at
concentrations of 150,000 parts per billion (ppb), 25,000 ppb, 43,000 ppb, 5,700 ppb and
32,000 ppb, respectively Lead was detected at a concentration of 0 67 ppm in the water
sample, however, no EDB was detected
2.3 Groundwater Depth and Gradient
Information obtained from monitoring wells located at 2420 Grant Line Road indicates that
groundwater depth at the site is between 8 and 10 feet Groundwater flow direction at the
Grant Line Site is northerly, consistent with flow direction in the Tracy area
3.0 SCOPE OF WORK
The San Joaquin County Public Health Services - Environmental Health Division
(PHS/EHD) is requiring an investigation of the lateral and vertical extent of hydrocarbon
impacted soil and groundwater at the site
Initially, we propose to drill and sample a total of four soil borings at the site Three
• borings will be drilled in the area of the former UST excavation to a depth of approximately
10 feet A fourth boring will be drilled approximately 30 feet noith (down-gradient) of the
excavation, this boring will be drilled to a depth of approximately 20 feet and completed as
a groundwater monitoring well Soil samples will be collected at five-foot intervals
However, one boring will be sampled continuously to obtain more precise lithologic
knowledge of the site
A groundwater sample will be collected via Hydropunch from two of the borings near the
former UST excavation These samples will determine if additional wells will be required
cross-gradient and up-gradient of the former UST excavation
4.0 PROCEDURES
The following procedures will be pei formed to complete the scope of work, as described
above
1) Prepare a Site Health and Safety Plan in accordance with the Occupational Safety
and Health Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities - Prepared by
National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, Occupational Safety and
0-1-8na1
Ay&Serves,lie
.
