i
k'4 KLEINFELDER
1 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The following report presents the results of Kleinfelder's.ground water investigation.at the
Tracy Community Memorial Hospital in Tracy, California. At the request of the San
Joaquin Local Health District, three monitoring wells were installed and sampled to assess
the presence of petroleum hydrocarbons in the ground water.
During well installation, four borings were drilled and soil samples were collected from
each: MW-1, B-8, MW-2, and MW-3. The boring, B-8, was initially drilled to install
2 monitoring well MW-2. However, clue to the proximity of an existing underground storage
• tank (currently being permitted for closure in-place due to its proximity to existing
structures) and observed soil staining and odor during drilling, this boring was closed by
grouting and MW-2 was relocated.. Based on field observations, two samples from.B-8
were submitted for chemical analyses. The results of these analyses will be submitted at a
later date, as an addendum to this report. --
The remaining three borings completed as monitoring well MW--1, MW-2, MW-3. Water
le eas eats taken March 23, 1989, indicate a local ground water flow direction to
' the nort west All analyzed petroleum constituents in the water sam les from MW-1, MW-
-3 were below laboratory reporting limits except f r 0.9 ug/l oluene in the
-------------
duplicate sample from the upgradient well, MW-3. Analytical indicate that the
ground water has not been significantly impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons.
Kleinfelder reconunends a copy of this report be submitted to the San Joaquin Local
Health District (SJLHD) for review and consideration.
1.75-89-543 1
