Date: February 17,2003
Quarter: 4't'Quarter,2002
• APPENDIX A
REMEDIAL SYSTEM PERFORMANCE EVALUATION
The SVE/AS systems were initiated on January 4, 1996 and June 18, 1997, respectively. A brief description and
performance evaluation of the remedial system during Fourth Quarter,2003 are presented below.
SVE System
The SVE system is comprised of I I SVE wells (VES-1 through VES-7, ATR-3, ATR-4, ATR-5, and TEX-1) and a
King Buck Hasstech 100-cfm catalytic oxidizer. The SVE system is permitted by the San Joaquin County Unified
Air Pollution Control District (SJCUAPCD) Permit to Operate Number N-3413-1-0, for operation through
December 31,2005. The SVE system has been shut down since June 2001.
The system remained off due to low influent concentrations. To date, the SVE system has removed approximately
3,616.6 pounds of TPHg and 10.6 pounds of benzene from the soil and groundwater beneath the site. Historical
SVE system performance and analytical data are summarized in Tables A-I through A-3. Graphical presentations of
TPHg mass removal and influent concentration data are shown on Figures A-1 and A-2.
AS System
The AS system is comprised of I1 AS wells (VES-I through VES-7, S-1 through S-3, and SMW-1) and a Conde
7.5-hp sparge blower. The AS system operated at an average injection pressure of 6.5 psi. AS system operational
data, including well open/closed status, flow rate and applied pressure, are presented in Table A-4. Historical
dissolved oxygen levels for site wells are presented in Table I of this report.
Conclusion
The AS system will be restarted during the first quarter 2003;the SVE system will remain off.
•
K V5 BP ARC0W093AQ02%2093 GWMR4Q02.doc Page A-1
