5 3 Disposal of Water
Construction activities required the removal of water from the tank cavity excavations on July
23, 199-T Water was pumped from the excavations directly into a Hydro-chem vacuum truck
A total of about 4,500 gals of water was transported by Hydro-chem to Gibson Oil in Redwood
' City, California for disposal. Water disposal documentation is given in Appendix D.
' 6.4 INSTALLATION OF VAULT BOXES AND REMEDIATION PIPING
' ARCO plans to implement a vapor extraction and air sparge system to remediate the petroleum
' hydrocarbons in the soil and ground water at the Site Brown and Caldwell Consultants of
Sacramento, California(B&C) is in the process of designing a soil and ground water remediation
' system for the Site. To reduce future trenching across the Site, vault boxes and horizontal
piping associated with the remediation system were installed by Golden West concurrently with
the installation of the new product tanks and piping
' Vault boxes were installed over existing wells and at the proposed locations of future wells
(Figure 4). Piping and conduits for vapor extraction, ground water recovery, and air sparging
' were installed from the vault boxes to the proposed remediation compound location As-built
drawings showing vault box and piping details are available from B&C. The piping will allow
' for connection of the wells to treatment systems in the future
7.0 SUMMARY OF RESULTS
This section summarizes activities related to UST and piping replacement, soil and water
' sampling analytical data, soil and water disposal, and installation of remediation piping at the
Site
8 Doc #A 159WO1 17
