INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK
In accordance with the request of Mr. Bob Yamada,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) has
prepared this Monitoring Well Installation Work Plan for 15406 South Tracy Boulevard, Stockton,
California. The location of the site is illustrated on Figure I- Location Map. Structures, wells and
former underground storage tank (UST) locations are illustrated on Figure 2 - Site Plan.
This work plan is prepared in accordance with guidelines established by the San Joaquin County
Public Health Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) and Central Valley Regional
Water Quality Control Board(CVRWQCB)for the investigation of underground storage tank(UST)
sites.
2.0. BACKGROUND
It is our understanding that two USTs were removed from the site in July 1991. Low concentrations
of petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in a grab water sample collected from the excavation
following removal of the UST. The PHS-EHD is requiring investigation to determine the extent of
impacted soil and ground water.
3.0. SCOPE OF WORK
3.1. DRILLING AND SAMPLING
The scope of work will include the advancement of three soil borings to total depths of
approximately 20 feet below surface grade (bsg), collection of soil samples, and installation of three
2-inch diameter ground water monitoring wells. Soil borings will be advanced utilizing a truck-
mounted drill rig equipped with 8-inch diameter hollow-stem augers.
Soil samples will be collected at five-foot intervals beginning at a depth of 5 feet bsg, and will be
preserved and placed in a chilled container for transportation to a state-certified laboratory under
chain-of-custody. Soils will be described using the Unified Soil Classification System (USCS). Soil
sample descriptions and PID screening results will be summarized on boring logs prepared for the
final report.
Advanced GeoEnvironmenfal.Inc.
