I09 June 2004 i AGE-NC Project No 98-0452 Page 2of5 I Domestic well DW-1 was purged by opening the purge valve and allowing the holding tank to be emptied Following complete discharge of the holding tank the pump was allowed to operate for at least one minute prior to water sampling I 2 12 Collection and Analysis of Ground Water Samples Water samples were collected from each monitoring well using the dedicated disposable bailer,after allowing the wells to achieve a minimum 80%recovery of the pre-purge water volume, also a water sample was collected from domestic well DW-1 at a sampling port located on the supply line between the well head and the holding tank Each water sample was transferred into laboratory- supplied 40-m1 volatile organic analysis (VOA) vials containing 0 5 ml 18% hydrochloric acid as a sample preservative After collection, the samples were properly labeled, placed in a chilled container and transported under chain-of-custody to Cal Tech Environmental Laboratories (CTEL), a California Department of Health Services(DHS)-certified analytical laboratory, and analyzed for • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA Method 8015 Modified, and 10 • Benzene,toluene,ethylbenzene and xylenes(BTEX),and the fuel additives methyl-tertiary- butyl-ether(MTBE), tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA), di-Isopropyl ether(DIPE), ethyl tertiary butyl ether(ETBE),and tertiary amyl methyl ether(TAME), 1,2-dibromo ethane(EDB) and ' 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) in accordance with EPA Method 8260B ' 21 3 Purge Water Disposal ' On 13 January 2004, approximately 130 gallons of non-hazardous purge water was pumped from on-site 55-gallon drums The purge water had been generated during previous ground water monitonng events Pumping and disposal was completed by American Valley Waste Oil, Inc of ' Delhi, California The purge water was disposed at Riverbank Oil Transfer located in Riverbank, California A copy of the waste disposal manifest is included in Appendix C 1 22 RESURVEY OF MONITORING WELLS ' In accordance with revised ground water reporting procedures established by the RWQCB, a California state-licensed survey engineer from Morrow Surveying surveyed the location of ' monitoring and domestic wells, and resurveyed the well-head elevation of the monitoring wells, on 13 January 2004 using global positioning satellite (GPS) observations Locations are referenced to coordinate datum NAD 83 (1986), elevation at the top of the well casings are referenced to vertical ' Advanced CeoEnvironmental,Inc I
