I09 June 2004 <br /> i AGE-NC Project No 98-0452 <br /> Page 2of5 <br /> I Domestic well DW-1 was purged by opening the purge valve and allowing the holding tank to be <br /> emptied Following complete discharge of the holding tank the pump was allowed to operate for at <br /> least one minute prior to water sampling <br /> I <br /> 2 12 Collection and Analysis of Ground Water Samples <br /> Water samples were collected from each monitoring well using the dedicated disposable bailer,after <br /> allowing the wells to achieve a minimum 80%recovery of the pre-purge water volume, also a water <br /> sample was collected from domestic well DW-1 at a sampling port located on the supply line <br /> between the well head and the holding tank Each water sample was transferred into laboratory- <br /> supplied 40-m1 volatile organic analysis (VOA) vials containing 0 5 ml 18% hydrochloric acid as <br /> a sample preservative After collection, the samples were properly labeled, placed in a chilled <br /> container and transported under chain-of-custody to Cal Tech Environmental Laboratories (CTEL), <br /> a California Department of Health Services(DHS)-certified analytical laboratory, and analyzed for <br /> • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA <br /> Method 8015 Modified, and <br /> 10 • Benzene,toluene,ethylbenzene and xylenes(BTEX),and the fuel additives methyl-tertiary- <br /> butyl-ether(MTBE), tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA), di-Isopropyl ether(DIPE), ethyl tertiary <br /> butyl ether(ETBE),and tertiary amyl methyl ether(TAME), 1,2-dibromo ethane(EDB) and <br />' 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) in accordance with EPA Method 8260B <br />' <br /> 21 3 Purge Water Disposal <br />' On 13 January 2004, approximately 130 gallons of non-hazardous purge water was pumped from <br /> on-site 55-gallon drums The purge water had been generated during previous ground water <br /> monitonng events Pumping and disposal was completed by American Valley Waste Oil, Inc of <br />' Delhi, California The purge water was disposed at Riverbank Oil Transfer located in Riverbank, <br /> California A copy of the waste disposal manifest is included in Appendix C <br /> 1 <br /> 22 RESURVEY OF MONITORING WELLS <br />' In accordance with revised ground water reporting procedures established by the RWQCB, a <br /> California state-licensed survey engineer from Morrow Surveying surveyed the location of <br />' monitoring and domestic wells, and resurveyed the well-head elevation of the monitoring wells, on <br /> 13 January 2004 using global positioning satellite (GPS) observations Locations are referenced to <br /> coordinate datum NAD 83 (1986), elevation at the top of the well casings are referenced to vertical <br />' Advanced CeoEnvironmental,Inc <br /> I <br />
