PROCEDURES
' Quarterly ground water monitoring was performed on 06 September 2000 Field work was
performed in accordance with the San Joaquin County Public Health Services - Environmental
' Health Division (PHS-EHD) and Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board
(CVRWQCB) guidelines for the investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites
'• 2 1 MONITORING WELL PURGE PROCEDURES
' On 06 September 2000, a Solmst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water
in the three wells relative to the tops of the well casings (well heads) The ground water elevations
and gradient were determined from this data (Table 1)
' After recording water level maurements a two-stage submersible pump was used to urge each
I monitoring well of standing water Approximately 10 to 12 gallons o f water were removed from each
well(approximately 3 casing water volumes) Ground water temperature,pH and conductivity were
measured at regular intervals during the purge process using a Hydac water analyzer Field data
I sheets are included in Appendix A Purged water was stored on site in labeled, 55-gallon DOT-
approved drums
2 2 COLLECTION AND LABORATORY ANALYSIS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
Following purging and allowing a minimum of 80% recovery of initial water volume in the wells,
water samples were collected from each purged well using new disposable plastic bailers Each water
sample was transferred into laboratory-supplied 40-m1 VOA vials containing 05 ml 18%
hydrochloric acid as a sample preservative, and into 1-hter glass amber bottles without a
preservative After collection, the samples were properly labeled, placed in a chilled container and
lie
transported under chain-of-custody to McCambell Analytical Laboratones, Inc and were analyzed
Advanced GeoEnvtronmental,Inc
