III . INGNITAHILITY
The contaminated soil is a solid and will not ignite through
fraction , moisture absorption , or spontaneous chemical changes at
standard temperature and pressure. Also., it will not infinite by
open flame.
IV. REACTIVITY
This material is stable and will not react with water or
form a mixture with water that will produce potentially explosive
mixtures. The soil is not cyanide or sulfide bearing, and water
will not cause it to emit any kind of hazardous fumes. It will
not detonate due to a strong initiating force or if heated under
confinement. It will not detonate or explode under decomposition
or react at standard pressure and temperature.
V. CORROSIVITY
As a solid , the contaminated soil falls into paragraph two
of Section 66708. When mixed with its equivalent weight in
water, the soil will not carrade 'steel .
CONCLUSIONS
This report addressed ' the five deciding factors that
determine whether or not a waste is hazardous. The first
criteria, Toxicity, proved that the LC50 was greater than the
minimum value of five hundred milligrams per liter in all tests
that were conducted . The second test criteria concerned
Persistence and Sioaccumulation of toxic substances. Seventeen
parameters were tested in two different samples. All parameters
tested below the minimum value. The third criteria dealt with
Ignitability. It was found that the soil will not ignite. The
fourth criteria examines the Reactivity of the soil . This soil
is very stable and does not contain cyanide or sulfide. The last
criteria focused on Corrosiveness of the contaminated soil . No
corrosive attributes were found in this soil .
The contaminated soil from the ISC Winery to be recycled has
been found to be nonhazardous and suitable for recycling into
asphalt paving material .
Respectfully submitted,
F rnbur
IN RING
Ery Ri , R 19
a
