The groundwater in the vicinity of the site is unconfined Groundwater elevation at the
site varies from a wet year high of 25 feet bgs to at least 50 feet bgs during the previous
drought period Groundwater flow direction at the site has varied from north to south
through the northeast and southeast quadrants
QUARTERLY GROUNDWATER MONITORING, 9127100
WEGE and Pittman Well Purging (PIAT) collected quarterly groundwater samples from
the three monitor wells at the site on September 27, 2000 See Appendix A for QA/QC,
details, methods, procedures, abbreviations, and acronyms used in sampling and analysis
Appendix A also contains notations of any variance from the standard methods and
procedures employed during the September 27 2000 monitoring round See Appendix B
for copies of the field data sheets
DEPTH TO WATER MEASUREMENTS
WEGE measured depth to water in all «ells on September 27, 2000 The measurements
were made from the surveyed elevation datum at the top of casing at each well using an
electrical air/water interface probe (Table 1) No free product or product sheen was
observed in any of the monitor wells
COLLECTION AND CERTIFIED ANALYSIS OF GROUNDWATER SAMPLES
Following depth to water measurements, PWP purged approximately three well volumes
of water from each well using a truck mounted vacuum lift pump and dedicated one inch
diameter PVC tubing The volume of water purged from each well is noted on the field
data sheets (see Appendix B)
After purging, the wells were allowed to recover to at least 80% of their original well
volumes A groundwater sample was then collected from each well with a disposable
polyethylene bailer and decanted with no head space into four 40 ml VOA vials
containing 0 5 ml HCL acrd as a preservative
The samples were delivered with accompanying chain of custody documentation to North
State Environmental Laboratories (DHS Certification 41753) The certified laboratory
analyzed the groundwater samples from each monitor well for concentrations of TPH-G
and BTEX and MTBE using EPA methods 8015M and 8020
DISPOSITION OF WASTEWATER
The 46 gallons of wastewater that were generated from purging of the monitor wells were
temporarily contained on-site in a labeled 55 gallon dot approved drum
i
2 Arc Pump QM 7-9, 2000
I
