Monitor wells completed in only the lower zone (50-80 feet bgs) will be completed with
. same materials described above The largest screening interval will be equal to or less
than 20 feet and dependent on the lithology and zones of contamination encountered
Monitor wells completed in multiple zones will be completed with multichambered 17
inch diameter polyethylene tubing Screened intervals will be sandpacked as described
above Zones between screened intervals will be sealed with hydrated bentonite and neat
cement as described above
TASK III: DEVELOPMENT AND SURVEYING OF WELLS
Approximately three to four days after the monitor wells have been installed, they will be
developed by swab and purge techniques to establish good hydraulic communication
between the wells and the surrounding formation water A swabbing tool will be used to
agitate and condense the sand pack across the slotted casing interval The wells will then
be purged with a truck mounted vacuum lift pump until solids have been removed from
the well casing and the ground water entering through the sand pack is no longer turbid
On the same day as the wells are developed, the elevations of the tops of the well casings
will be surveyed by a licensed surveyor to the nearest 0 01 foot and tied to an existing
benchmark The surveyor will also provide rectangular coordinates for the monitor wells
TASK IV: QUARTERLY GROUNDWATER MONITORING
Groundwater samples will be collected from the newly installed monitor wells and
analyzed by a certified laboratory on a quarterly basis Quarterly groundwater
monitoring will be performed until the site is closed The methods and procedures
currently used to obtain the groundwater samples from the three existing monitor wells
will be employed to obtain and analyze groundwater samples from the proposed
additional four monitor wells
TASK V: REPORT OF RESULTS
At the completion of drilling and receipt of laboratory results WEGE will prepare a report
documenting the work performed including borehole logs, well completion diagrams,
certified laboratory results from the soil samples, and surveyors plat map The
documentation may be included within a quarterly groundwater monitoring report
7 ARC PUMP -WKPLN- 9128199
