INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of Mr Greg Gaut of Comfort Air,Inc ,Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc (AGE)has <br /> prepared this Work Plan Addendum for 1607 Turnpike Road, Stockton, California The proposed <br /> scope of work includes the installation of five monitoring wells to monitor deep dissolved <br /> contamination and define the horizontal extent of petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted ground water, <br /> due to a release from a former underground storage tank(UST)at the site This work plan describes <br /> the scope of work and procedures to be implemented for installation of five ground water monitoring <br /> wells and collection and analysis of soil samples The location of the site is illustrated on Figure 1 <br /> A plan of the site, including existing wells, is illustrated on Figure 2 A tentative schedule for <br /> completion of the proposed scope of work is included in Appendix A <br /> This work plan has been prepared at the request of the property owner to expedite the closure process <br /> and at the direction of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(EHD)letter dated <br /> 13 August 2004 The work plan is prepared in accordance with the Central Valley Regional Water <br /> Quality Control Board(CVRWQCB) Tri-Regional Board Staff Recommendations for Preliminary <br /> Evaluation and Investigation of Underground Tank Sites <br /> 2.0. BACKGROUND <br /> The Comfort Air facility is a heating and air conditioning sales and repair business located at 1607 <br /> Turnpike Road, Stockton, California,in an area of low topographic relief in southwestern Stockton <br /> A complete background of the site is included in Appendix B <br /> AGE has developed a preliminary subsurface model of the site hydrostratigraphy comprised of six <br /> informal zones, a vadose(unsaturated)zone and five hydrologeological units (HU1 through HU6) <br /> Hydrogeological units HU2 and HU4 consisted of sand and are characterized by low pore pressures, <br /> HU1, HU3 and HU5 are dominantly silt intervals with variable pore pressures that generally range <br /> from low to medium, these intervals may not be significant barriers to vertical contaminant <br /> migration The informal zones are illustrated on cross sections A-A' and B-B', depictedom Figures <br /> 3 and 4 <br /> 3.0. SCOPE OF WORK <br /> AGE proposes to install five ground water monitoring wells to define the vertical and horizontal <br /> extent of ground water contamination at the site One well will be installed in first ground water <br /> • (HU1) east of the site, three wells will be installed in the second water zone (HU2) east, northeast <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
