INTRODUCTION <br /> I At the request of Mr Greg Gaut, Advanced GeoEnvironrnental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this <br /> quarterly report for Comfort Air,Inc , 1607 Turnpike Road, Stockton, California(site) The location <br /> of the site is illustrated in Figure 1, a plan of the site is illustrated in Figure 2 <br /> The objective oftheworkwas to monitor dissolved petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations in ground <br /> water and to characterize groundwater flow direction and gradient on the site This report is prepared <br /> in accordance with guidelines established by the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control <br /> Board (CVRWQCB) for investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites A summary of <br /> previous investigations at the site was included in the Quarterly Report - February 1997, dated IS <br /> April 1997, and Monitoring Well Installation Work Plan -July 1998, prepared by AGE <br /> 1 1 SITE LOCATION <br /> The Comfort Air facility is a heating and air conditioning sales and repair business located at 1607 <br /> • Turnpike Road, Stockton, California, in an area of low topographic relief in southwestern Stockton <br /> The site is located in section 10, Township 1 north, Range 6 east, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian <br /> (Figure 1) The surrounding area is utilized for residential and light industrial purposes The Port of <br /> Stockton hes approximately two mules northwest of the site <br /> I12 REGIONAL GEOLOGIC SETTING <br /> The property is located within the Great Valley Geomorphic Province ofCaliforma, a large, elongate - <br />' northwest trending, asymmetric structural trough The Great Valley Province has been filled to its <br /> present elevation with thick sequences of sediment ranging in age from Jurassic to Recent, creating <br /> a nearly flat-lying alluvial plain, extending from the Tehachapi Mountains in the south to the <br /> I Klamath Mountains in the north The western and eastern boundaries of this province are comprised <br /> of the California Coast Range and the Sierra Nevada, respectively Rocks composing the basement <br /> complex of the province have not been completely defined but are believed to be metamorphic and <br /> igneous in origin The Great Valley Province is subdivided into two major subdivisions designated <br /> the Sacramento and San Joaquin Valleys <br /> I2 0. PROCEDURES <br /> IOn 01 March 2001,groundwater monitoring and sampling was performed at the site on wells MW-1 <br /> through MW-8 Contaminants included total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline(TPH-g) <br /> and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX) <br /> I <br /> Advanced CeoEnvironmental,Inc <br /> I <br />
