Violation 102: Unusable Used Lubricant& Filtered Metal Shavings: <br /> Once you dispose of the unusable used lubricant, by either taking it to a used oil collection center, recycling facility, or a <br /> hazardous waste disposal facility, ensure you maintain hazardous waste disposal records or a log documenting the date <br /> of disposal/recycling, quantity of lubricant disposed, and the facility name and address where you disposed of the <br /> lubricant. <br /> Also, ensure you make a proper hazardous waste determination for the metal shavings that are filtered from the used <br /> lubricant. <br /> Violation 102: Unusable Chemicals in Hazardous Materials Locker: <br /> Make a hazardous waste determination for each unusable chemical (waste) in the hazardous materials locker and <br /> manage them according to Title 22 CCR. Use Safety Data Sheets (SDS), waste sampling and test results or other <br /> knowledge to support your hazardous waste determination. Waste testing must be done using methods specified in <br /> Title 22 CCR including sections 66261.20-24. <br /> Submit a statement and supporting documentation with your hazardous waste determination for each unusable <br /> chemical. Provide disposal records for the unusable chemicals determined to be hazardous wastes and stored longer <br /> than the number of days specified in Title 22 CCR for your hazardous waste generator status. <br /> Also, provide a copy of your normal protocol for managing unsaleable and unusable chemical items. <br /> Violation 102:Spill Clean-Up/ Hazardous Waste Management: <br /> A hazardous waste determination must be made on all items that spill at your facility.A hazardous waste <br /> determination must also be made on the material used to clean-up a spill at your facility(e.g. used absorbent, paper <br /> towels, rags, etc.). If the spilled item is determined to be hazardous,the used clean-up materials must be properly <br /> managed and disposed of as hazardous waste. If the spilled item can no longer be sold or used for its intended purpose <br /> and is determined to be hazardous, the item must also be managed and disposed as hazardous waste. <br /> You may have a licensed hazardous waste hauler pick up your facility's hazardous waste for disposal, or as a small <br /> business, you may take your hazardous waste to the San Joaquin County Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Facility. If <br /> you take your hazardous waste to the HHW, you will need to make an appointment ahead of time and provide your <br /> facility EPA ID number.
