PC : 6-2-88 <br /> TA-88-10 <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> It is recommended that the Planning Commission recommend that the <br /> Board of Supervisors: <br /> 1 . Approve the Negative Declaration and instruct the Clerk to <br /> file a Notice of Determination. <br /> 2 . Approve Text Amendment No. TA-88-10 based on the "Bases for <br /> Recommendation" listed below. <br /> BASES FOR RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1 . "The proposed Text Amendment is consistent with the General <br /> Plan. " <br /> Staff has determined that this statement is applicable <br /> because no new uses are proposed. <br /> 2 . "The proposed Text Amendment will not have a substantial , <br /> adverse effect on properties affected by the Text Amendment . " <br /> ° Staff has determined that this statement is applicable <br /> because the Text Amendment is intended to clarify and <br /> correct existing terminology and sections used in the Code , <br /> bring sections of the Code into conformity with State law, <br /> and simplify specific application requirements while main- <br /> taining protection of property. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> Text Amendment No. TA-88-10 was initiated by the Planning <br /> Division to effect changes to the Planning Title necessary for <br /> converting from the existing agricultural zones to the proposed <br /> agricultural zones and to codify into the Code specific Board <br /> actions and directives. <br /> SUMMARY OF PROPOSED TEXT AMENDMENT: <br /> The Text Amendment would make the following major changes to the <br /> Planning Title: <br /> 1 . Permit land within an agricultural preserve to be zoned to <br /> any agricultural zoning classification. <br /> Comment : The existing ordinance requires that land within an <br /> agricultural preserve be zoned to at least EA-20 or GA-20 . <br /> The Board of Supervisors, however, has recently determined <br /> -3- <br />
