d <br /> PHASE I ENVMONMENTAL srm ASSESSMENT AND SOIL SAMPLING REPORT <br /> Lodi,California <br /> Shell Purchase Order No. <br /> Delta Project No.40-90-838 <br /> Page 2 <br /> F s Screening soil samples collected at 5, 10, and 14 feet with a photoionization detector (PID) for <br /> Lthe presence of organic vapors. , <br /> • r <br /> • Submitting two soil sample collected from each soil boring for chemical analysis by EPA Method <br /> 3 <br /> 8015/8020 for the identification of benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes (BTEX), and total <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) as gasoline. <br /> • Preparing a report which'includes our data and conclusions. �. <br /> i <br /> i. <br /> 3.0 SITE OVERVIEW <br /> 3.1 Site Location <br /> The site is located southeast of the intersection of Thornton Road and Highway 12 in Lodi, California, <br /> NW 1/4, NE 1/4, Section 14,T.3N., R.5E., MDB&M (Figure 1). <br /> 3.2 Site Description and Hist <br /> The property encompasses an area of approximately 60,000 square feet and has the following dimensions: <br /> 210, 275, 240, and 266 feet for'the west, north, east, and south sides,respectively. The site is vacant and is <br /> .r <br /> used for agricultural purposes.i Review of aerial photographs indicate the property has been undeveloped <br /> since the early 1960s. Aerial photographs are presented in Appendix A. Site reconnaissance photographs <br /> are presented in Appendix B. Locations from which the site reconnaissance photographs were taken are <br /> shown in Figure 2. <br /> 3.3 Adlacent Prorties <br /> The locations of adjacent properties discussed below are shown in Figure 2. The subject site is surrounded <br /> by fields. Highway 12 is approximately 100 feet north, and Thornton Road is approximately 25 feet west <br /> of the subject site. A Park-N-Ride is located on the southwest corner of the intersection of Highway 12 and <br /> Thornton Road. A Texaco Truck and Auto PIaza and Mini Mart are located southwest of the subject site, <br /> across Thornton Road. Rocky's Restaurant is located on the south side of the Texaco station. Interstate <br /> .i <br /> 5 is located west of and runs parallel to Thornton Road. Adjacent to the east side of Rocky's Restaurant <br /> is a water tank and pump. A Chevron gasoline station is located approximately 300 feet south of the subject <br /> site.
