SUMIDEN WIRE PRODUCTS CORPORATION JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: PC STRANDING MACHINE OPERATOR Helps Maintenance with Machine Problems, and works as a Maintenance Helper during Monthly Maintenance and PPSD QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports in English. Ability to Speak effectively before other employees, to communicate with others at shift change etc. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and use the metric system of measurement for sizes and weights. (Typically millimeters and kg's or metric ton) REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES MUST HAVE THE ABILITIES TO READ A MICROMETER, VERNIER HEIGHT GAUGE, AND A METAL RULER FOR QUALITY CHECKS ON THE WIRE DIAMETERS, PRE-FORM HEIGHTS, AND PITCH LENGTHS. - MUST US AN OVERHEAD BRIDGE CRANE TO LOAD AND TO UNLOAD SPOOLS IN THE STRANDING MACHINE. - MUST HAVE THE ABILITIES TO USE A RESISTANCE WELDER TO MAKE "BUTT JOINT WELDS" ON WIRE FOR SPOOL CHANGES IN A PRODUCTION SETTING.
