In response to your request, I have documented events as they occurred during excavation & sampling at the above site. The details of spoil removal and site restoration will be forwarded to you when completed. At the present time it is trio wet to finish the warp on the site. BRIEF CHRONOLOGY OF PERTINENT ACTIVITIES: DATE EVENT Unknown; est. Brick cistern or cesspool installed; current owner pre-1930 unaware it existed until uncovered. Pre-1965: 300 gallon UST installed for domestic and agri--- Cultural use. Reported to have contained leaded and unleaded gasoline. Not used after 1965. 6/7/1991 UST removed by Jim Thorpe Oil ; sample taken from beneath the tank showed significant levels of Tol- uene, Ethylbenzene, Xylene, Ethyl Dibromide, and gasoline; (TPH-G. ) Soluble lead was not present. 7/24/1991 Re-excavation & resample workplan submitted by Jim Thorpe Oil . B/9/1991 Work performed under approved workplan. An exca- vation xca- vatiori of approximately 23'x 20'x 20' deep was made using Thorpe Oil equipment. A total of 12 soil samples were taken from the excavation, and 5 from the spoil pit. Laboratory results revealed significant levels of Xylene, TPH-G, TRH-D, EDS, & oil & grease. Water samples taken from the two domestic hells on the property were tested for BTEX, TPH-G, TPH-D, EDB, O&G, & coliform bacteria. Only coliform bacteria was detected- it 's presence was not related to the UST. Approximately 344 CY. of spoil was removed; it was placed an plastic to west of the excavation. 9/27/1991 Site Assessment Report & workplan submitted to EHD.
