Brick cistern or cesspool installed; current owner <br /> pre-1930 unaware of it 's existence. <br /> Pre--1965 304 gallon UST installed for domestic and agricul- <br /> tural use. Reported to have contained leaded and <br /> unleaded gasoline. Not used after 1965. <br /> 6/7/1991 UST removed by Jim Thorpe Oil ; sample taken from <br /> beneath the tank showed significant levels of Toluene, <br /> EB, Xylene, EDB, and gasoline. Soluble lead was not <br /> present. <br /> 7/24/1991 Re-excavation & resample workplan submitted to EHD <br /> by Jim Thorpe Oil . <br /> 8/9/1991 Work began on site using Jim Thore Oil equipment; an <br /> excavation of approx. 23' x 20' x 20' deep was made. <br /> A total of 12 soil samples were taken from the exca <br /> vation, and 5 from the spoil pile. Laboratory results <br /> revealed the presence of Xylene, gasoline, diesel , <br /> EDP, & oil & grease. Water samples from two nearby <br /> domestic wells, tested for BTEX, TRH-G, TPH-D, <br /> EDP, O&G, and coliform bacteria. Only the latter was <br /> detected-it 's presence is not related to the removed <br /> UST. Approx. 340 CY of spoil was removed_ <br /> 9/27/91 SAR & workplan submitted to EHD for action. <br /> 10/18/1991 Revised workplan submitted to EHD. <br /> 10/20/1991 Additional spoil removed from south side of existing <br /> excavation, and a small area on the north wail . 5 <br /> soil samples were taken and analyzed for BTEX, EDB, <br /> TPH-G, TPH-D, and O&G. <br /> 10/31/1991 Laboratory results showed that all tested substances <br /> were below detection limits, except O&G. That test <br /> was run using method SM503C, which was an incorrect <br /> procedure. <br /> 11/13/1991 Sail samples were retested, using method 418. 1; that <br />
