essentially all of the hydrocarbon contaminants were
• removed from the site of the underground storage tank by
excavation, (4) the mayor contamination was not the result
of the UST leaking, but came from the improper disposal of
farm wastes, (5) the tests from active farm and home water
well samples showed no hydrocarbon contamination, even
though one well is within 20 feet of the probable disposal
site, (6) coliform bacteria were found in the active well
samples, the source of which is not known, (7) the depth
to groundwater presently is at least 85 ' bgl and possibly
90 ' bgl , and lastly, (8) IT IS THE OPINION OF WJH THAT THE
CONTAMINATED SOILS HAVE BEEN REMOVED FROM THE UST AND THAT
IT IS UNLIKELY THAT ANY HYDROCARBON CONTAMINANTS FILTERED
THROUGH THE VADOSE ZONE AND CONTAMINATED THE GROUNDWATER.
SOIL REMEDIATION
At the time of the writing of this document, no soil
remediation plan had been adopted Jim Thorpe Oil , Inc ,
the 3ob contractor, was soliciting beds for remediation. A
soil remediation plan will be submitted as another
addendum to the WJH reports .
WN. J HUNTER & ASSOCIATES Fu
QL {
Dennis R. Allen, CEG r
3
