essentially all of the hydrocarbon contaminants were <br /> • removed from the site of the underground storage tank by <br /> excavation, (4) the mayor contamination was not the result <br /> of the UST leaking, but came from the improper disposal of <br /> farm wastes, (5) the tests from active farm and home water <br /> well samples showed no hydrocarbon contamination, even <br /> though one well is within 20 feet of the probable disposal <br /> site, (6) coliform bacteria were found in the active well <br /> samples, the source of which is not known, (7) the depth <br /> to groundwater presently is at least 85 ' bgl and possibly <br /> 90 ' bgl , and lastly, (8) IT IS THE OPINION OF WJH THAT THE <br /> CONTAMINATED SOILS HAVE BEEN REMOVED FROM THE UST AND THAT <br /> IT IS UNLIKELY THAT ANY HYDROCARBON CONTAMINANTS FILTERED <br /> THROUGH THE VADOSE ZONE AND CONTAMINATED THE GROUNDWATER. <br /> SOIL REMEDIATION <br /> At the time of the writing of this document, no soil <br /> remediation plan had been adopted Jim Thorpe Oil , Inc , <br /> the 3ob contractor, was soliciting beds for remediation.
