i September 27 , 1991 San Joaquin Co Public Health Service Environmental Health Division 445 No San Joaquin Street Stockton, CA 95202 Ref Site Code 4359 Attn Mike Inferna Dear Mr Inferna, We are enclosing a copy of the Site Assessment Report & Workplan for the Devincenzi property located at 21167 No Tretheway Road, Acampo, CA for your review and response My associate, Dennis Allen, was on site during the work, and prepared most of the SAR That report was completed, and the accompanying Workplan was prepared by Wm Hunter , who will be the professional in charge of additional work conducted on the site The laboratory results indicate that the primary source of . contamination was most likely the abandoned cesspool , (or cistern, ) and not the UST The high levels of TPH-D and oil & grease encountered, (refer to Table A, ) are not constituents of gasoline, which records indicate was the only product stored in teh UST Water samples from two nearby domestic wells did not contain any petroleum products, and indicate that groundwater has not been impacted at this location The high levels of coloform bacteria detected are not a result of hydrocarbon contamination, the source of that bacteria is not known It is believed that the best method for removing the remaining contaminants is by removing additional spoil as outlined in the workplan Because of the low viscosity and volatility of diesel and oil & grease, it is not likely that they have migrated any great distance Re-excavation appears to be the most effective technique in this situation We would appreciate your timely review and comment, our client is anxious to finish this project as soon as possible If you have any questions, or wish further clarification of the contents of the report, do not hesitate to contact us Yours truly, • William J Hunter cc A, Dito, Thorpe Oil
