A exclusion zone will be <br /> established approximately 10 feet around drill rig and boring location work areas.No unauthorized <br /> person shall be allowed within this exclusion area. <br /> 4.0. HAZARD EVALUATION <br /> The following substance(s) or hazards are known or suspected to be on site. <br /> SUBSTANCES INVOLVED: CONCENTRATIONS: <br /> Benzene 0 ug/l <br /> Toluene 0 ug/l <br /> Ethyl-benzene 0 ug/l <br /> Total xylenes 0 ug/1 <br /> Gasoline (TPH-g) 0 ug/l <br /> [Other organic-based products (MTBE) 1 0 ug/l <br /> The primary hazards of each are identified as follows: <br /> 1. Hydrocarbon fuels - Components of fuels are colorless liquids with strong aromatic <br /> petroleum hydrocarbon-like odors. They are flammable and have low solubility in water. <br /> Exposure to these materials in excess of recommended exposure limits can cause mild eye, <br /> nose, and throat irritation and can produce a narcotic effect on the central nervous system. <br /> Symptoms of exposure at these concentrations include headache, nausea, drowsiness, <br /> dizziness,and loss of coordination.Certain components of gasoline(BTE&X etc.)are known <br /> or suspected carcinogens. <br /> The additional potential hazards include: Slip-trip-fall hazards, noise, heavy equipment (i.e., Drill <br /> rig), vibration hazards, traffic hazards, etc. <br /> 5.0. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT <br /> Based on evaluation of potential hazards, the following levels of personal protection have been <br /> designated for the applicable work areas or task: <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc. <br />
