GEOCON
CONSULTANTS. INC.
GEOTEC H N ICAL ■ ENVIRONMENTAL ■ MATERIALS
Project No. E8769-02-01
September 17, 2014
Mr. Keith Meyer
Rajappan & Meyer
1038 Leigh Avenue, Suite 100
San Jose, California 95126
Subject: SITE INVESTIGATION WORKPLAN
I-205/ELEVENTH STREET INTERCHANGE PROJECT
TRACY, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
Dear Mr. Meyer:
In accordance with your request, Geocon is submitting this Workplan to perform preliminary site
investigation for the Interstate 205 (1-205)/Eleventh Street Interchange Project in Tracy, San Joaquin
County, California. This Workplan describes the proposed scope of services and outlines procedures
and methods to be employed by Geocon to complete the project.
PROJECT LOCATION AND PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS
City of Tracy in corporation with San Joaquin Council of Governments (SJCOG) and Caltrans
proposes to construct a new interchange at Eleventh Street on I-205 between Eleventh Street and Grant
Line Road interchanges in northwest Tracy in San Joaquin County.
The project consists of construction of a Type L-9 partial cloverleaf interchange to replace the existing
Eleventh Street interchange, construction of a 1,217-foot-long deceleration lane in the westbound
direction from Eleventh Street to Grant Line Road, and a 895-foot-long acceleration lane in the
eastbound direction. The project connects to the existing auxiliary lanes to the west.
The purpose of the project is to provide additional connectivity to I-205 to serve the increase in
forecasted traffic demand at surrounding interchanges and to improve regional mobility by connecting
a planned regional arterial road with I-205.
The project location is depicted on the attached Vicinity Map, Figure 1.
PURPOSE
Proposed construction activities will most likely require the disturbance of soil at the project location,
which may be impacted with aerially deposited lead (ADL) and petroleum hydrocarbons, primarily
due to historic leaded fuel emissions from automobile exhaust, and with heavy metals, pesticides, or
herbicides, primarily from agricultural land use The investigative results will be used by the client to
inform the construction contractor if soil impacted with metals, petroleum hydrocarbons, pesticides,
and herbicides is present within the project boundaries for health, safety, management, and disposal
evaluation purposes.
6671 Brisa Street 0 Livermore,CA 94550-2505 0 Telephone 925.371-5900 0 Fax 925.371.5915
