. CLEARWA-TER
G A O L7 P, N c.
ii
3.0 FIELD ACMFITIES
Clearwater began quarterly groundwater samphng at the subject location in February
1995. All work has been performed in accordance with Clearwater Field Procedures
(previously submitted) and under the directives"
irectiv s, and guidelines established by the
PHS/EHD and the Regional Water Quality Control Board.
The monitoring wells were sampled on Octob er 18, 1995 under the supervision of '
Mr. Ron Rowe of the PHS/EHD. Prior to sam ling,.the top of casing on each well
was re-surveyed to confirm water level measur ments and calculations.
- All wells were gauged to the nearest hundredth of a foot and then purged of a
' minimum of three well volumes. Temperature pH and conductivity of the purged
water were monitored to ensure collection of a representative groundwater sample.
Groundwater samples were collected from the monitoring wells using dedicated
polyethylene bailers and placed in appropriate sample containers. Samples were
labeled, documented on a chain-of-custody form, and stored in a cooler for transport
to American Environmental Network (AEN), a state-certified laboratory located in'
Pleasant Hill, California. Well gauging, purging and sampling data is presented in
Appendix A. All groundwater samples were a alyzed for TPHg and TPHd by EPA
Method 3510/GC-FID, and for BTEX by EPA Method 8020 (modified).
4.0 RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
4.1 Water Level Monitoring Data
F ' Accordingto Mr. Ron Rowe of the PHS/EH , the northerly groundwater flow
Y
direction indicated during the May monitorinE event is inconsistent with the local
groundwater gradient. At the request of the PI IS/EHD, the wells were re-surveyed
on October 18, 1995. No survey errors were ound; the data was .consistent with
previous survey data. :.
On October 18 the depth t
p o ground water In e three wells ranged from 29.72 to
20.99 feet bgs (Table 1). . Groundwater flow was estimated to be northerly at an
i approximate gradient of 0.05_%; the estimated groundwater elevation contours are
shown on Figure 3.
•
k
D-104 3Q95 2 November 28,1995
F111
