' Phase II Site Assessment Report - Septic Leach Fields and Drainage Ditch
American Moulding and Millwork Company
' 2801 North West Lane, Stockton, California
' 1.0. INTRODUCTION
In accordance with the request of Mr. J. Patrick Hughes of Americar Moulding and Millwork
' Company(AMM)Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc. (AGE)has prepared this report documenting
advancement of probe borings and collection of soil and grab groundwater samples at two active
t septic leach fields and a drainage ditch on the above referenced site.Thes two areas were identified
in the 1987 Phase I and/or in the 20 March 2000 updated Phase I SiteAssessment as potentially
having been impacted by unauthorized releases ofhazardousmaterials. This report has been prepared
' as part of a due diligence investigation of the property.
' L L SITE LOCATION
The site is located on a 61-acre property on the southwest corner of the intersection of North West
' Lane and East Alpine Avenue (Figure 1). A site map illustrating structures on the property is
included as Figure 2. The site has low topographic relief, sloping gently toward the west to
southwest, at an elevation between 15 and 20 feet above sea level.
1 The property is situated within the Great Valley Geomorphic Province of California,a large, elongate
northwest trending, asymmetric structural trough. The Great Valley Province has been filled to its
t present elevation with thick sequences of sediment ranging in age from Jurassic to Recent, creating
a nearly flat-lying alluvial plain extending from the Tehachapi Mountains in the south to the Klamath
Mountains in the north. The western and eastern boundaries of this province are comprised of the
' California Coast Range and the Sierra Nevada, respectively. Rocks composing the basement
complex of the province have not been completely defined but are believed to be of metamorphic
' and igneous origin. The Great Valley Province is subdivided into two major divisions designated the
Sacramento and San Joaquin Valleys.
' The Modesto, Riverbank and Turlock Lake Formations and overlying Recent alluvium are the
principal source of domestic ground water in the 13,500 square-mile San Joaquin Valley Ground
Water Basin (Basin 5-22).
tGround water is being monitored by Dames&Moore at an adjacent US's site, with two monitoring
wells within 100 feet of the site. Ground water occurred at approximately 35 feet below surface
grade in March 1999,and was flowing toward the northeast(Dames&Mc ore,April 1999,Quarterly
Groundwater Monitoring Report-March 1999). The Dames &Moorereport shows the generally
northward historic local ground water flow direction varying from west-northwest (297°) to east-
southeast (103°).
Ground water is considered to be of beneficial use and is used fbi domestic, industrial and
' Advanced GmEnvironmental,Inc.
