Box 8368
Stockton, CA 95208
Attention: Mr. Bernie Sloop
Dear Mr. Sloop:
Dames 8 Moore will be conducting a brief soil sampling program
' at your facility from May 5 to 7 , 1987 . I plan to be at your
facility on Monday afternoon, May 4 and will be able to discuss our
sampling plan in detail at that time. This letter briefly summarizes
our sampling plan.
SOIL BORINGS .
Three sampling areas will require access by a small ,
truck-mounted drilling rig. I have scheduled the rig to arrive on
site Tuesday, May 5. These three sampling areas are described below:
o South of the Primer Building adjacent to t e 10,000 gallon
primer wash down tank
o South of the Ray Bond Building adjacent to the previous penta
dipping tank
o Northeast of the Finger Joint Building in the area of the
septic tank
The drilling rig is approximately 8 feet wide by 20 feet long.
The mast height , when raised , is approximately 25 feet . Soil
cuttings from the borings will be collected and stored in 55-gallon
drums. The borings will be backfilled with cement grout upon
completion of sampling.
The drillers will need an area ( that will not conflict with your
y operations) where they can steam clean their equipment between
borings. The drillers will have a steam cleaner but will require
water and electricity access. I anticipate completing the drilling
activities by Wednesday , May 6 .
APR. 2 2 1987
