DATED
FEBRUARY 23, 2007, FORMER AMERICAN MOULDING AND MILLWORK SITE,
2801 WEST LANE, STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA
Dear Mr. Smith:
The Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) has reviewed the subject notes
which are being accepted as a workplan addendum, prepared by Geomatrix
Consultants, Inc. (Geomatrix). The January 24, 2007 meeting was conducted to
discuss the additional investigation and data needed in response to DTSC's
December 14, 2006 letter presenting comments on the Report of Investigations, dated
October 12, 2006, prepared by MACTEC Engineering and Consulting, Inc. During the
meeting, the additional scope of work and data requirements wer discussed.
DTSC staff from the Fresno Responsible Party Unit have reviewed the meeting notes
which summarize proposed additional work at the Site. Please note the following
clarifications with respect to the groundwater sampling:
• The meeting notes indicate groundwater samples will be c Ilected at
approximately 50 feet below surface grade. It is recomme ded that depth to
groundwater be checked in the on-site monitoring wells prior to collecting the
groundwater samples. Discrete samples should be collected from the
first-encountered groundwater or close as the sampling technology allows.
• One groundwater sample location is depicted in the south rn area of the northern
portion of the Site. DTSC recommended that the groundwater sample be
collected at the 40X120 building wash-down area. The sarnple represented in
Figure 1 of the meeting notes should be accurately locatec in the wash-down
area during sampling activities.
