• Anthony J.Landis -2- June 7, 1985
Marley Cooling Tower '
Other items that need to be addressed are:
o Water samples should be taken from municipal wells surrounding the facility
(California Water Service wells) .
o Sludge samples must be taken from the bottom of the retention pond.
o Data received by Marley, from their contractors, after a progress report
has been sent to this office, should be forwarded expeditiously, rather
than with the next progress report.
o A workplan must be developed for further work to be done. All plans
submitted refer only to preliminary assessments. Since all mitigation
projects are multiple-phase projects, all different elements of the in-
vestigation, including deliverables and schedules of tasks should be
incorporated into a total workplan. This workplan should describe all
tasks and include the schedules associated with these tasks. A more
specific timeline needs to be developed, incorporating dates for interim
deliverables (rather than just the final reports) . Results and technical
reports should be submitted to this office before the final report. We
need to review and approve of all work before proceeding to the next phase
of the investigation.
MR:st
