Box 2912 FERMIT/SERVIOtS
Mission, KS 66201
Dear Mr. Hopkins:
SOIL AND GROUNDWATER ASSESSMENT PLANS, OFF-SITE SAMPLING PLAN AND STORMWATER
POND SAMPLING
We have reviewed the final version of the Soil and Groundwater Assessment
Plans and the Off-Site Sampling Plans. Based on this review, we have deter-
mined that the submittals are adequate to further define the extent of con-
tamination at the Stockton facility.
This office is in concurrence with the Regional Water Quality Control Board's
comments regarding the proposal for slant drilling under the stormwater pond.
Please submit soil and groundwater sampling and analysis results, as they
become available, to this office and to Bob Fujii of the Regional Water Quality
Control Board. A final report for this phase of investigation should be sub-
mitted as soon as possible after completion of all assessment activities.
It must be understood that all remedial investigations are multiphased projects.
After the initial sampling and monitoring work is evaluated, there probably
will be a need for further soil sampling and/or groundwater monitoring well
installation.
If there are any questions, please contact Marge Rouch at (916) 739-2791.
Sincerely,
Anthony J.
