The top of the
screened interval for monitoring wells DMW1 through DMW4 is between 61 and 64 feet
bgs. The top of the screened interval for DMW5 is 50 feet bgs. This has created a
condition where wells 1-4 are 15 to 17 feet over screen and well 5 is 4 feet over screen.
Wells that are over screen usually produce results that are not representative of the
aquifer of concern. Installation of wells screened for a shallower static groundwater
elevation may be required as groundwater approaches impacted soil.
PHS/EHD was not notified of the monitoring scheduled for July 11, 1997. Please provide
PHS/EHD with 48 hours advance notice of all future monitoring.
PHS/EHD recommends that the results of all analyses and monitoring data be tabulated
in a manner that will display compliance with the post remedial monitoring program.
Please contact Steven Sasson, Senior REHS, at (209) 468-3459, if you have any
questions.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
c
Steven Sasson, Senior REHS Margar t Lagorio, REHS
Site Mitigation Unit Supervisor
ss
cc: Elizabeth Thayer, CVRWQCB
cc: Kevin Brown, Dames and Moore
cc: Bernie Sloop, American Moulding and Millworks
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
