Ms Diane M Hinson, RENS <br /> 4 April 1994 <br /> Page 2 <br /> LABORATORY ANALYSES RESULTS <br /> TPH-G was detected in the original and duplicate samples collected from MW-1 at <br /> concentrations of 3 2 mg1I and 3 5 mg/l, respectively TPH-D was detected in the original <br /> and duplicate groundwater samples collected from well MW-1 at concentrations of 5 1 <br /> mg/L and 8 3 mg/L respectively The TPH-G concentrations detected in MW-1 during the <br /> 8 March 1994 sampling event is in the same order of magnitude as the TPH-G and TPH-D <br /> concentrations detected in MW-1 during previous sampling events Table 2 provides <br /> current and historical analytical data for MW-1 and other site monitoring wells The <br /> laboratory data sheets and Cham-of-Custody form for the 8 March 1994 sampling event <br /> are attached <br /> RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> Groundwater samples collected from monitoring well MW-1 for four consecutive quarters <br /> (second, third, and fourth quarters of 1993 and first quarter 1994) have shown <br /> consistently low concentrations of TPH-G and TPH-D Additionally, laboratory results of <br /> groundwater samples collected from down-gradient well MW-5 during the years of 1990 <br /> and 1993 have not indicated the presence of chemicals of concern On the basis that the <br /> chemicals of concern appear to be localized at well MW-1 , we recommend that no further <br /> groundwater monitoring be conducted at the site and all onsite monitoring wells be closed <br /> Well will be closed in accordance with state and county guidelines We also request that <br /> the site be granted closure from the County A closure report will be prepared in <br /> accordance with Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board Reporting <br /> requirements (Appendix A to the Tri-Regional Board staff recommendations for Preliminary <br /> Investigation and Evaluation of Underground Tank Sites) <br /> If you have any questions regarding the results of our latest sampling event, or if you <br /> would Ike to discuss our recommendations, please contact me at (916) 362-3251 <br /> Sincerely, <br /> KENNEDY/JENKS CONSULTANTS <br /> �or <br /> ye A McKinney / <br /> Project Manager <br /> 922640 00 <br /> 04102194 2 39pm <br /> attachments <br /> cc Catherine Whitworth, Trustee <br />
