2. Results for Second Semiannual Period 2011
This section presents the groundwater monitoring results for the second semiannual period
2011, the status of remediation and other completed activities for the second semiannual
period 2011,and planned activities for the next semiannual monitoring period.
L 2.1 Groundwater Monitoring
L The following groundwater monitoring activities were performed in the second semiannual
period 2011 (April through September 2011),in accordance with MRP No. R5-2007-0831.
e Depth to groundwater was measured on September 1,2011, in 15 shallow (less than
L 25 feet below ground surface [bgs]) onsite groundwater monitoring wells and 1 deeper
(greater than 35 feet bgs) onsite groundwater monitoring well.
e Groundwater samples were collected on September 1,2011,from 13 of the shallow wells
and the 1 deeper well. Well N-18 was resampled on June 1,2011, during the second
semiannual period of 2011, due to the detection of low concentrations of total petroleum
lye hydrocarbons (TPH) and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX)
during the first semiannual 2011 sampling and N-18 resampling events in March 2011.
e Groundwater and quality assurance samples were analyzed by a state-certified
laboratory.
In addition,HydraSleeve samples were collected from six shallow wells and one deeper
L well on September 1,2011,during the second semiannual sampling event. The HydraSleeve
samples were collected as SFPP requested and were approved in an email from the RWQCB
on October 29, 2010.The standard purge and HydraSleeve samples were collected to
compare the analytical results of both sampling methods to evaluate using the HydraSleeve
sampling method in future sampling events instead of using the general standard purge
methodology. The HydraSleeves were set in the wells during the first semiannual
b„ monitoring event on March 2,2011,and the HydraSleeve samples were collected for the
current event on September 1,2001.
2.1.1 Methods
The following wells were gauged and sampled:
Order well Gauge Method
1 Upgradient wells: M-1, M-2`, M-3` Single-Phase Probe
2 Sentinel wells: M-8, N-18, N-19, N-20 Single-Phase Probe
3 Deep well: N-24
Single-Phase Probe
4 Plume fringe wells: M-10, N-8, 0-1 Interfere Probe
5 Plume wells: N-7, N-15, N-16, N-17, RW-1 Interface Probe
`Wells M-2 and M-3 were gauged only, not sampled.
ES102411163308SCO/LW3521.DOCXH12g70003 21
