It is possible that other site investigations are being conducted nearby and there may be an opportunity to share information and access to monitoring wells. The Phase II Environmental Site Assessment Report also notes that in January 1997, a Phase I investigation was prepared by Harding Lawson Associates, Inc., and in August 1997 a limited soil and groundwater sampling was performed by Environs. Please provide copies of these and any other reports that may contain information relating to pollution,past owners and operators, and adjacent operations. As we discussed in our 30 August conversation, LESCO intends to sell the operations at this facility and is interested in achieving No Further Action status. Groundwater investigation and remediation could conceivably be conducted concurrently with a new owner, but it would be advisable for LESCO to complete soil remediation prior to relinquishing control of the site. LESCO should provide a schedule to submit a groundwater investigation work plan by 3 October 2005. LESCO may choose to provide the soil investigation work plan separately from or together with the groundwater investigation work plan.
