PHS/EHD has not yet received this workplan addendum. <br /> This submittal will be past due on December 5, 1994 . <br /> All the dispenser islands at the site showed visual and olfactory <br /> evidence of contamination. PHS/EHD is aware that the eastern <br /> dispenser island was excavated further. However, this was done <br /> on a weekend and without PHS/EHD oversight . All of the dispenser <br /> islands must be assessed with soil borings to determine the full <br /> extent of the contamination. This work shall be completed under <br /> the direction of a qualified, professional individual . <br /> Moreover, the western dispenser island showed significant <br /> evidence of contamination. In fact, the northern area of this <br /> dispenser island consisted of extremely discolored and odorous <br /> sandy backfill material .
