The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the violation if of an Joaquin County <br /> Development Code Title 9, Section 9-1115.5, the improper abandonment of a well. <br /> Several additional issues were discussed and the following agreements were reached. <br /> In order to properly destroy the two monitoring wells that were severed in the new tank <br /> pit area at 15 feet below grade, a 12" polyvinylchloride (PVC) conductor casing will be ; <br /> set over each of the wells prior to the backfilling of the tank pit with pea gravel. Within <br /> 45 days from the reopening of the station, these two wells will be over drilled to <br /> remove the casing, the cement grout, the sand pack and any dirt or pea gravel that <br /> had fallen into the wells during the initial excavation. Tt is work will be performed by a <br /> licensed C-57 contractor and under permit and gu,idancep of PHSIEHD. Monitoring well <br /> MW#3R will be replaced with a new viable monitoring well. <br /> Should the PVC conductor casing become dislodged from the wells during the <br /> placement of the tanks or pea gravel backfill, Thrifty Oil lbompany will have to take <br /> whatever necessary steps to locate and properly destroythe wells. <br /> '. PHS/EHD initiated a compliance schedule for future assessment and cleanup at the <br /> site. The intent of the schedule is to ensure timely progr"ess at the site and to initiate <br /> interim abatement measures as soon as possible.11 PHSIEHD has established the <br /> following schedule-. <br /> Within 30 days, Thrifty Oil Company shall submit to PHSIEHD an addendum to the <br /> July 12, 1994 Workplan for Additional Site Assessment.'i�The addendum shall present <br /> the construction and location of on site replacement monitoring and vapor extraction <br /> test wells.
