Environmental Health Department <br />Small Quantity Hazardous Waste Generator Inspection Report <br />Date: <br />April 25, 2019 <br /> Facility Address: <br /> 1145 S AURORA ST, STOCKTON <br /> Facility Name: <br /> JUANS AUTO REPAIR <br />SUMMARY OF VIOLATIONS <br />(CLASS I, CLASS II, or MINOR - Notice to Comply) <br />RemarksItem # <br /> 406 CCR 66261.7 Contaminated container not marked with date emptied or managed within one year of being emptied. <br />In the hazardous waste storage area: <br />-One brown 15 gallon steel drum was observed without an empty date. <br />-One black 55 gallon steel drum was observed without an empty date. <br />-One blue 55 gallon steel drum was observed with a 9/3/2012 empty date. <br />Containers larger than five gallons that previously held a hazardous material shall be marked with the date they were <br />emptied and managed within one year of being emptied. Immediately mark and manage all empty containers per <br />this section and manage all containers that have been empty for at least one year. <br />This is a repeat violation, Class II. <br /> 505 CCR 66262.34(f) Failed to completely label stationary hazardous waste tanks. <br />The used oil hazardous waste tank did not have an accumulation start date. All hazardous waste tanks shall be <br />marked with the words “Hazardous Waste” and the accumulation start date. Immediately ensure that all hazardous <br />waste tanks are marked with the required information. <br />This is a repeat violation, Class II. <br /> 601 CCR 66262.34(d) Stored hazardous waste onsite greater than 180 days. <br />The following containers were observed without an accumulation start date and did not have a recent disposal <br />record: <br />In the main shop: <br />-A pile of metal fines (enough to fill a 1 gallon bucket) was observed next to several machines. <br />In the hazardous waste storage area: <br />-One black 55 gallon steel drum containing paper and metal used oil filters (full) <br />-One black 55 gallon steel drum containing oily absorbent (full). <br />In the engine room: <br />-Several old filters were left to drain on top of a red 15 gallon portable drain pan. <br /> <br />Facilities who generate less than 1000 kg of hazardous waste per month and do not exceed 6000 kg of waste <br />stored on site at any time may store waste on site up to 180 days. Since it cannot be determined how long the <br />hazardous waste has been on site, immediately contact a licensed hazardous waste hauler to dispose of this waste <br />under manifest.
