A. FINDING: CANCELLATION IS IN THE PUBLIC INTEREST <br /> The Board finds, based upon substantial evidence, as to <br /> those portions of the Williamson Act contract applicable to the <br /> Buckeye Ranch project, the proponent's cancellation application <br /> should be granted because cancellation is in the public interest. <br /> In reaching this public interest finding, the Board makes the <br /> following sub-findings as required by Government Code Section <br /> 51282 (c) : <br /> - other public concerns substantially outweigh <br /> the objectives of the Williamson Act; and <br /> - there is no proximate noncontracted land <br /> which is both available and suitable for the use to <br /> which it is proposed the contracted land be put. <br /> 1. 0 OTHER PUBLIC CONCERNS SUBSTANTIALLY OUTWEIGH THE <br /> OBJECTIVES OF THE WILLIAMSON ACT. <br /> 1. 1 The proposed uses of the contracted lands are <br /> consistent with the County General Plan and the specific zoning of <br /> the property. <br /> The General Plan designations for the property are <br /> general agriculture and resource conservation. The specific <br /> zoning of the property is GA-40. All of the proposed uses <br /> (agriculture, limited residential, golf course, and nature <br /> preserve) are consistent with the General Plan, and are allowed <br /> T <br /> within the GA-40 zone, subject to residential density limitations <br /> and a use permit for the golf course.
